Acceptable Use Policy

What you can and can't do on Terrabox — for every account and everyone it lets in.

Version 2026-10-20 · last updated 20 October 2026

Draft pending legal review. This document is being reviewed by our lawyers and may change before Terrabox opens self-service sign-up. Contracted customers' signed agreements take precedence.

  2. 2. Nothing unlawful or harmful
  3. 3. No attacks, no abuse of the platform

  5. 5. Export control and sanctions

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses the Terrabox GPU console, API and compute (the Services) provided by Terrabox.ai Pty Ltd (ACN 699 975 981). It forms part of our Terms of Service and of any written agreement that refers to it. If you give others access — staff, contractors, or your own customers — you must make sure they follow it too.

2. Nothing unlawful or harmful

You must not use the Services to:

  • break any law, or help anyone else to;
  • create, store or distribute child sexual abuse material — we report it to the Australian Federal Police and the eSafety Commissioner;
  • infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, including training on data you have no right to use;
  • defraud, deceive or impersonate anyone, including phishing, scams and deceptive synthetic media intended to mislead;
  • harass, threaten or incite violence against anyone;
  • develop or improve chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons, or other weapons capable of mass casualties, or materially help anyone do so;
  • build or operate systems designed to surveil, target or discriminate against people in breach of law.

3. No attacks, no abuse of the platform

  • No malware, ransomware, botnets, or command-and-control infrastructure.
  • No scanning, probing, penetration testing or attacks on any system you don't own or aren't authorised in writing to test — including denial-of-service.
  • No attempt to break out of your container or environment, to access another customer's GPUs, data or processes, or to access Terrabox's management network, BMCs, firewall or other infrastructure.
  • No attempt to defeat metering, billing, rate limits or other controls.
  • No sending of unsolicited bulk email or messages.
  • No open proxies, relays or anonymising networks offered to others.

4. No crypto-currency mining

Crypto-currency mining, proof-of-work, and plotting or similar resource-consuming blockchain activity are not permitted without Terrabox's prior written consent.

5. Export control and sanctions

  • Advanced NVIDIA GPUs are subject to export controls. You must not use the Services in breach of Australian sanctions or defence trade control law, US Export Administration Regulations or other applicable export control or sanctions law.
  • You must not let anyone use the Services who is, or acts for, a sanctioned or export-restricted person, or from a comprehensively sanctioned country or region.
  • You must not use the Services for military end-uses or end-users that require a licence you don't have.

6. Fair use of shared resources

On a node shared by the GPU, don't do anything that unreasonably degrades other customers' service — for example exhausting shared host memory, filling shared disks, or saturating the network uplink for long periods. Contact us if you need large data transfers; we can schedule them.

7. Reselling

You may run services for your own customers on Terrabox, but you may not resell raw Terrabox GPU capacity or accounts as such without a written agreement with us. You remain responsible for your customers' use under this policy.

8. How we enforce this policy

  • We may investigate suspected breaches, including by reviewing metadata about your environment. We don't access the contents of your volume except as our Terms allow.
  • We may suspend a workload, an API key, SSH access or an account — immediately, where we reasonably believe there is a risk to others, to the Services or to our legal position — and will tell you why where we lawfully can.
  • Serious or repeated breaches may lead to termination. We cooperate with law enforcement and regulators as required by law.

9. Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse of the Services, or a security vulnerability, to abuse@terrabox.ai. Please include times (with time zone), IP addresses and any evidence. Reports of vulnerabilities made in good faith and kept confidential until we've fixed them are welcome.
